Ahead of our next expat meet-up, we wanted to give an inside view of our office, and Gozo, from one of our local recruiter’s point of view. Trisha Bonnici has been working with the company since January 2021 after heavy experience in banking. She is a dedicated mother, and her energetic personality help her drive forward the office social events, such as BBQ nights and Friday Beers!

What does your day to day look like?
Exciting. It is perfect for an extrovert like myself, as everyday there is a new invigorating challenge. Amongst other things, we spend the day on the phone calling job seekers. We discuss their options, prepare them for interviews and help them on their next step in their career path. There is also a lot of research involved in the role. We have a variety of roles open and in order to properly present them, we need to know as much as we can about the role.
It is a very rewarding career. Its a great feeling to see the positive difference you are making in someone’s career development.
What are you looking for in the Expat Meet-Up?
I’m looking forward to meeting a lot of new faces, and finding people who might be a good fit for our team. Events like these are always a good chance to network with people interested in working from Gozo or interested in our services.
Why do people move to Gozo?
Personally, as a local, I think people relocate because of the tranquility. Gozo is a quiet island, with lots of green areas and a less hectic life. People who live in a busy city will see the contrast between a bustling city, and Gozo and its beaches.
Would you relocate if you could?
Definitely. I love meeting new people, enjoying new cultures, experiencing new things, and relocating abroad would let me do that. It’s a great outlet for personal growth.
What do you think is a good sign that you need career progression?
Whenever you hit ceilings. Speaking for myself, a sign to look out for is if the job is no longer a challenge, and offers no additional progression. Career progression, due to less supply and more demand, is faster and more sought after these days.
