Assistant Accountant
Or client, a well-established and reputable company in Malta, is looking to expand their Financial department.
Responsibilities:
• Reviewing of weekly payment run
• Reviewing of bank reconciliations
• Reviewing of sales invoices
• Reviewing of payroll journals and upload files
• Ensuring that all Balance Sheet accounts are reconciled monthly
• Reviewing and approving of month end inventory and processing in accounting system
• Preparing depreciation, accruals, and prepayments journals
• Preparing monthly vessel accounting
• Communicating with vessel Hotel Managers and Assistant Hotel Managers
• Obtaining a sound understanding of different VAT jurisdictions
• Liaising with auditors during year end audit
• Working with Peers at Head office, Malta office and Vessel team
• Working on other reporting as required
• Managing a team
Requirements:
• Ability to work well with colleagues, manage the team and liaising with the vessel team
• Ability to prioritize workload and delegate tasks
• Ability to work well under pressure and within set time frames
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of MS Office software
• In the process of obtaining ACCA qualification
• Fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Minimum of 3 years previous experience in a similar post
• On the job training will be provided
• Willing to travel twice or three times annually
