Job description:
Our client is a premium law firm particularly active in the areas of technology, gaming & gambling, fintech, tax, corporate law, corporate finance, employment, property, and corporate services. 
Due to their ongoing expansion, our client is looking for an experienced Senior Associate with solid knowledge and experience in Financial Law, specifically to advise on MiFID II.
 
Responsibilities: 

• Provide legal advice and business expertise to clients as requested by the Firm in relation to corporate, banking, regulatory, finance and transactional matters including crypto-assets,
• Assist with regulatory advice on licensing applications and on-going compliance obligations of regulated entities, including collective investment schemes and investment firms,
• Guide entities active in or accessing the capital markets.
• Draft and review business plans, legal opinions, agreements, policies & procedures
• Share knowledge and experience, particularly in financial services law, financial instruments legislation, anti-money laundering legislation, commercial law and company law, generally with the partners of the Firm and with other employees of the firm for the benefit of the Firm’s business.
• Mentor junior lawyers and review/oversee their work and help them develop their career.

 Requirements:

• Degree in Maltese Law
• Be admitted to the Maltese Bar
• A Masters in Financial Services will be considered an asset
• Minimum of four to five years’ post qualification experience in a similar role
• Experience in advising on MiFID II and other related legislation (min 2 years in this specific experience)
