BUYER/PURCHASER
 
The role of buyer is responsible for the procurement of materials, focusing on the full spectrum of automotive component sourcing, in line with the company’s purchasing strategy and objectives.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Develop the existing supply sources and selecting new quality suppliers.
  • Sourcing new products and reducing costs through negotiation.
  • Sending out RFQs and evaluating factors like lead time, market conditions, prices and discounts offered.
  • Issuing of supplier nominations and drafting accompanying documentation.
  • Constant communication with the engineering department and collaboration with other departments. 
Requirements:
  • Technical Diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively at all levels within the organisation.
  • Be ready to take up challenges and capable of working under pressure to meet challenging targets within specific deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritise and complete work assignments by specific deadlines, being self-driven and motivated through focus on goal attainment.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Personal qualities of drive, energy, enthusiasm and perseverance.
  • Ability to analyse data using MS Office tools.
