Job Details:
My client operates in the online card payment services industry. Due to recent rapid growth in the Maltese office they are now seeking a Data Analyst to join the team.
Responsibilities will include

Providing analysis support on demand for the Fraud team and other Departments.

On an ad-hoc basis, investigate proposed policy changes or new product introductions as they relate to fraud. This requires investigating, presenting and recommending

Development of new reports, metrics and segmentations for the fraud department as well as KPI’s for external audiences. This requires consultation with interested parties and experts within and outside of fraud; development of new metrics and segmentations; SQL scripting, testing, and documentation; and finally, reporting automation

Delivery of weekly, monthly, quarterly metrics to internal and external stakeholders. Document and explain metrics, known trends and significant anomalies. This often requires thorough root cause analysis – building complex queries, talking to experts in other areas, and building insightful, short presentations for senior managers.
The Ideal Candidate Should Preferably:

Possess a Master level degree in one of the following Ares: Statistics/Mathematics/ IT, Computer Science

Have at least one year work experience in a similar position, preferably in the Card Payments Industry or iGaming.

Able to analyse and draw conclusions from complex financial and operational data and perform in-depth root-cause-analysis

Excellent skills querying data using SQL, manipulating data in Excel (i.e. pivot tables) and other BI tools

A demonstrated ability to clearly and concisely present data (in the form of charts/tables/diagrams), conclusions, and recommendations such that they bring insight and help senior managers to make decisions

Experience automating processes for efficiency and to reduce errors

Be highly organized, pro-active, self-motivated, able to work on own initiative and eager to learn.

Possess excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills.

Be a team player and able to meet strict deadlines.
