The platform manages a high volume of members and processes over £1 billion a year in wagering. Purpose of Role As part of the group’s ongoing expansion we are looking for a skilled and motivated individual to join our Infrastructure Design Team. This position is to be located in Malta. As a member of the Infrastructure Design team, the Infrastructure Engineer is responsible to devise the strategy for the production Gaming Infrastructure. His main duties will include: · proposing new upgrades/refreshes to the existing systems/infrastructure · providing technical design authority over new or changing solutions · participating in the initial project implementation phase · researching and undertaking vendor and product reviews Skills and Experience The Infrastructure Engineer must demonstrate excellent design, diagnostic and support skills in all areas of infrastructure. The candidate must be conversant in networking, server and storage technologies and well understanding of n-tier architectures. He or she has to have a broad range of skills and must be keen to acquire skills and experience in new areas of technology. Knowledge and experience in the below areas is key to the role: · A proven track record in IT infrastructure engineering · Linux (preferably RPM-based) administration · Server virtualisation · Networking (preferably in Cisco / Juniper) · Good understanding of blade server technology · Enterprise systems management · An excellent understanding of IT security Additionally, the Infrastructure Engineer must have strong technical documentation skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Visio. Design and proposal writing experience is also essential. Other desirable skills would be: · Web/App Servers Experience (e.g. Apache/Jboss) · Caching technologies (e.g. Terracotta) · Messaging technologies (e.g. ActiveMQ) · Public/Private Cloud experience · Scripting languages (e.g. bash) · Object-oriented languages (e.g. Ruby, Java) · Database administration experience (MySQL, DB2, SQL) Personal qualities · Takes ownership · Excellent communication skills both written and verbally · Requirements gathering and implementation · Scope clarification / scope management · Confident negotiator · Quality orientated attitude with attention to detail · Good time management and expectation management skills · Decision making & problem solving · Able to think ahead and anticipate problems · Applies structured thinking · Participative style with good team management skills · Confident, personable, ability to work under pressure using own initiative If you are interested or know of someone that could be, kindly forward your CV in a word format to Krista Psaila on [email protected] or call on +356 27 204 518 for further information. |
