JOB DESCRIPTION
INTERNAL AUDITOR
 
Areas of responsibility include:
  • Works with Directors and management to ensure a system is in place which ensures that all major risks of the Bank are identified and analysed, on an annual basis
  • Plans, organises and carries out the internal audit function including the preparation of an audit plan which fulfils the responsibility of the function
  • Reports to both the audit committee and management on the policies, programmes and activities of the function
  • Coordinates coverage with the external auditors and ensure that each party is not only aware of the other's work but also well briefed on areas of concern
  • Makes recommendations on the systems and procedures being reviewed, reports on the findings and recommendations and monitors management's response and implementation
  • Reviews and reports on the accuracy, timeliness and relevance of the financial and other information that is provided for management
  • Conducts any reviews or tasks requested by the Directors, the audit committee, CEO or CFO, provided such reviews and tasks do not compromise the independence or objectivity of the internal audit function
  • Provides both management and the audit committee with an opinion on the internal controls in the Bank
Education:
  • A recognised professional qualification
  • CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants)
  • ACA (Association of Chartered Accountants)
  • ACCA (Certified Chartered Accountant)
  • CIPFA (Public Finance Accountant)
  • IIA (Institute of Internal Auditors)
Knowledge and Experience:
  • Knowledge of audit procedures, including planning, techniques, test and sampling methods involved in conducting audits
  • Strong analytical, written/verbal communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience
  • Fluent in English
