Regulatory Reporting Accountant
 
Position Description
The Reporting Accountant will report directly to the Head of Finance (HOF) and will be part of the finance team. The person will be responsible for the internal and external reporting.
 
Main areas of responsibility
  • Preparation of ad hoc reports needed by the regulators,
  • Prepares weekly, monthly and annual statutory and regulatory reports;
  • Analysing the reports sent to the regulator, to be able to internally report; 
  • Carrying out necessary liaison with third parties and stakeholders within the finance department and third parties to ensure the end result is delivered in the time frame and standards required.
  • Works with external consultants to automate statutory and other reporting
  • Working in accordance to the relevant deadlines, ensuring that there is enough time for a proper management review and understanding of the figures;
  • Prepares VAT returns and year-end tax returns – liaises with relevant tax authorities when necessary
  • Manages and develops Navision reporting as may be required and participates in other ad hoc Navision development projects when required,
  • Prepares ad hoc reports and analyses as may be required by Head of Finance / CFO,
  • Reports to and supports the other activities of the Head of Finance,
 
Other responsibilities may include
  • Assist if required in the closing accounting process;
  • Documentation of the Reporting Procedures;
  • Providing ideas and suggesting ways for the improvement of the way the reports are built, processes and procedures;
  • Execute ad hoc tasks as may be requested by the HOF/CFO.
 
Skills and Experience
  • Being in Professional modules of ACCA;
  • Experience within similar role within a financial services institution (would be considered an asset);
  • Excellent command of English languages;
  • Good communication and organisation skills;
  • Ability to manage time and prioritise work;
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools especially MS Excel and Navision;
