The role requires a person who has the right mix of technical, analytical skills and project management abilities. The candidate would have strong communication and leadership abilities, be able to convince with compelling arguments, and have the drive and energy to push through ideas and initiatives. Job Description Our client is actively engaged in developing its e-business capabilities by implementing 3rd party solutions and integrating them with its backend systems. The e-business solution will function within a BSS/OSS ecosystem and is seen to complement the existing portfolio of CRM, Ordering and Billing applications in the BSS layer. The scope of the e-business program includes self-care, e-commerce, e-billing and e-marketing. This role calls for a person who can work with internal stakeholders to help define rational requirements, which will add value to the firm’s business or result in increased operational efficiency. He/she will contribute to the creation and documentation of the relevant business processes. He/she will work with architects and other technical resources to design and build the integration components required to expose data, services and functionality from the back-end systems, and which is required to generally enable the front-end or e-business layer. Duties and responsibilities: · Examine and evaluate current and new systems/processes of customer facing portals so as to suggest improvements on how best to serve users and improve operational efficiency. · Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs. · Drive and challenge business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans. · Produce technical and non-technical documentation for new or modified systems/processes. · Liaise with other IT staff such as developers, architects and managers. · Manage stakeholder expectations and act as a bridge between IT and other departments in the company. · Manage vendor relationships and projects with vendors. · Negotiate timelines and priorities with customers. · Handle multiple initiatives in parallel and according to priorities. · Produce effective project and management reporting. Key skills: · Excellent understanding of the latest trends for e-commerce, self-care, e-marketing and e-billing, and how this can be supplemented by mobile apps. · Technical writing and the use UML (especially use case, flow charts, activity and sequence diagrams). · A good understanding of enterprise and solutions architecture. · Excellent understanding of both back-end and front-end development. Especially JAVA/.NET/HTML/JavaScript Libraries/CSS/SQL/XML/JSON and web services (SOAP and REST). · Basic database design principles. · Excellent understanding of Content Management Systems and how they work. · Excellent understanding of Search Engine Optimisation, both during and post development. · Creation of wireframes for user interfaces in order to help convey how requirements will be translated to user experience. · An passion for User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) design · Strong analytical skills. · Exceptional attention and a keen eye for detail. · Ability to keep abreast of the latest industry and public front-end application technology trends. · Team working skills. · Ability to work with offshore delivery teams. · Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English for both technical and non-technical audiences · Project management. · Organisational skills. · Leadership qualities. Experience and Interests: The ideal candidate would have experience of e-business project development and implementations, ideally with involvement in all stages of the life cycle (conception, design, development, assurance, and implementation).
