Technical Specialist

Our client is currently seeking to recruit a Technical Specialist to join their Business Applications Team.  This position entails:
  • Working together with the Business Consultants in the requirements gathering phase to define and implement the required solution technical configurations and architectures.
  • Implement software changes. This might require the development of minor enhancements or customizations using Java / SQL.
  • Install, configure and maintain Java application server software and SQL servers and assist in managing the team virtualisation/OS environments.
  • Developing reports using standard reporting tools such as Microsoft Reporting Services.
The selected candidate should have excellent trouble-shooting and interpersonal skills. The person should be able to work with minimal supervision.
Previous work experience in the manufacturing, production, oil and gas industries or similar industrial organisations are considered as an advantage. Working knowledge of the software application IBM Maximo or similar asset management software is also desirable, although not essential.
