Job Details:
CLERK / SENIOR CLEK (TRADE SERVICES)
 
In this role you will form part of the Trade Services Team. The main aim of this job is: to perform the day to day tasks in the team and to build awareness of the more complex transactions processed in the team.
 
Responsibilities:
·         Drafting, Advising, Issuing, Amending of Letter of Credit’s (inward/outwards), Transfers and Back to Backs.
·         Drafting and Issuance of Guarantees and Standby Letters of Credit.
·         Discounting of proceeds under L/C’s and also under Bills for Collection and Bills of Exchange.
·         Payments under L/C’s and also Bills for Collection.
·         Tracing issues on L/C’s, Bills for Collection and Guarantees.
·         Issuing and Advising Bills for Collections.
·         Issuing and paying letters of assignments under Letters of Credit and Bills for Collections.
·         Presentations of documents and raising discrepancies.
·         Checking of documents and checking of draft documents and informing customers with results.
·         Preparing documents for corporate customers.
·         Handling queries, e-mails, telephone calls of both internal and external customers and other clerical day to day duties.
·         Diarizing future events on the electronic diary and follow up.
·         Issuing and paying under forward FX contracts.
·         Handling queries from junior staff.
·         Dealing by e mail or over the phone with clients and external entities or organisations.
·         Support Team Leader to meet Trade Services Department productivity and quality goals
 
Requirements:
·         Banking and Finance Diploma or Degree
·         A minimum of 1-2 years experience in Letters of Credit/Banking knowledge
·         Have an excellent command of English
·         Possess good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
