IT DEVELOPER (ORACLE)
 
Our client is an international insurance management company providing a full range of services on a global basis. They are currently undergoing a substantial growth and are seeking to recruit a IT Developer for their client base.        
This position reserves to be responsible for analysis, design/development, documentation and maintenance of reports and extracts using a wide range of technologies.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop diverse feeds and reports using SQL, Oracle PL/SQL, PostgreSQL querying and Crystal Reports according to internal development standards, industry best practice and in line with the corporate IT security framework.
  • Produce clear and maintainable code within the agreed timeframes, budgets and quality levels.
  • Maintain version control and produce clear and standard documentation for new code and successive updates.
  • Unit test any code produced, deliver same for UAT and handle the change management cycle until the new code is released to the production environment.
  • Carry out meetings and actively correspond with users to clearly define and document requirements, accurately determine effort in terms of time and resources
  • Suggest improvements that could improve operational efficiencies and guide users whenever requirements do not meet security, quality or performance standards.
  • Provide regular reports to the IT Development Manager on issues relating to open issues and development pipeline.
 
Requirements:
  •  Proven knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL , PostgreSQL querying and Crystal Reports
  • A minimum of 2 years experience ideally in a financial organisation
  • Ideally a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or equivalent qualification
  • Flexibility and commitment to understand and meet the varied requirements of a global group.
  • Good communication and presentation skills
