Job Description – Factory Manager & Engineer Job Purpose To plan, organise, direct and control operations at one of the Company’s Factory Units in support of the business strategy. Main Responsibilities · To plan, schedule, and organize the production activities at the site, ensuring volume targets, quality standards, and deadlines are met · To ensure that volume targets, quality standards and deadlines are met · To optimize the use of resources, maintaining high levels of efficiency and productivity · To prepare the long term (Yearly Production Plan) and the input, maintenance, and update details in Manufacturing Resource Planning software · To schedule short term production to meet the sales demands, communicating this plan to all concerned, ensuring implementation and adherence · To analyse production processes and methods with a view to eliminate hazards, reduce costs, increase efficiency and productivity, eliminate waste and improve on quality standards · Implementation and observance of Health and Safety procedures and methods · To ensure the discipline and observance of Company policies, procedures and methods · To implement and conform to cleanliness and hygiene regimes · To train personnel to ensure adequate level of skilled personnel for higher flexibility · To motivate staff and promptly deal with grievances in a fair and just manner · To ensure that Supervisors hand in Daily Production Reports on time, details duly checked and verified. Any discrepancies are to be investigated and details are to be input in the Resource Booking system · To ensure that Quality Control checks are carried out by the Operators, and that Quality Control forms are duly filled and returned · To ensure that records related to raw, packaging, finished goods, work-in-progress and production are raised, maintained and verified · To manage the security of the premises and the plant · To compile monthly stoppage reports · To compile processes and procedures for the site · To verify SPIs, stocks and orders · To analyse costing and efficiencies · To organize transport for personnel on shifts as per Company policy · To ensure the use of protective clothing, including visitors, in the production areas · To undergo further training as provided by the Company · To carry out any other duty as necessitated from time to time by the ever-changing environments of a dynamic job · To be responsible to lead the facility’s maintenance team and oversee the machinery and automation systems, and any other services delegated by the Manufacturing Engineer. · To be responsible to manage the services, Lifts, HVAC, Boiler, RO and Compressors, which may be required to support the facility, and the up-keep of the factory. |
