Reporting to: Managing Director Summary of Role: To advice and review all documentation relating to the Administration of Retirement Schemes and Corporate Services including legislative review. Primary Responsibilities: • Checking and Reviewing Checking and reviewing agreements, application forms, scheme documents, and marketing material to ensure regulatory and legislative requirements are met. Checking and reviewing legislation in Malta and other jurisdictions and keeping the Board updated on any new developments • Legal Advice To give advice and where necessary to obtain concise and accurate legal advice/opinion as and when required by telephone, email or in face to face meetings • Legal Research Assist with regulatory issues and conduct legal research as when required • New Legislation Review of any draft local legislation/rules, identify resultant threats and opportunities and assist in the required implementation • Legal Support Working in both a supporting capacity and autonomously were appropriate as well as working on special projects • Prioritise You will be required to multitask, dealing with ad hoc legal enquiries at the same time as prioritising many legal issues at the same, some arising in new areas that you may not have dealt with before. • Self-Development Maintain and develop own knowledge base and expertise Core Competencies: • Relationship Management – internal/external • Good interpersonal skills • Numerate • Literate • Articulate • Computer literate Knowledge and Skills: • Graduate of law from the University of Malta • Minimum of two years experience in a comparable position preferably within the financial services industry in Malta • Familiar with the main office productivity software • Attention to detail and accuracy • Experience of an office environment • Knowledgeable of the Maltese legislation • An excellent academic and training background is required Key Interfaces: • Management • Compliance • Staff • Clients • Company Agents • Law firms If you are interested or know of someone that could be, kindly forward your CV in a word format to Donna Bonello on [email protected] or call on +356 27 204 518 for further information. |
