Linux Systems Administrator

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Systems Administrator to join our client’s company, a market leader in internet and broadcast convergence. The role will either be based in Malta. This is an exciting opportunity for a well-rounded Systems Administrator to join a leading digital media company at a time of success, expansion and continued profitability.

 
You will assist the Head of IT in maintaining the office and data centre environments. As well as working on application and statistical development. As our client is experiencing continual growth this position also offers excellent career development opportunities for the right candidate.

In order to be considered for this role you will need a strong technical understanding of high availability web hosting, a minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role as well as a passion for the web.
 
You will have excellent communication skills, a ‘can do’ attitude and the ability to manage a variety of projects in a pressurised environment.
Essential skills
 
·         Linux/Unix (Centos)
·         Database administration, MSSQL, MySQL, Memcached
·         Network administration (Cisco)
·         Load balancing (Hardware and Linux software)
·         Apache
·         PHP
 
 
Desirable Experience
 
·         Knowledge of running high availability machines
·         VMWare ESX
·         Linux Clustering
·         LAMP hosting
·         Scripting (Bash/Perl)
·         Kaltura Media Platform
 
Attitude and Approach
 
·         Methodical and high attention to detail
·         Ability to create clear, concise documentation
·          Excellent communicator
