SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER

Our client has been providing financial and operational software applications to the Oil & Gas industry in North Africa, for more than 12 years. The expansion of the business, through increasing their customer base and also through their existing customers, has created the need for the following vacancy of a Senior Project Manager.
The selected candidate will be responsible for delivering projects successfully in terms of budget, quality, efficiency and customer fulfilment.

Responsibilities will include:
  • Management of complex software projects which could involve many hundreds of man days effort and last between 9 and 24 months
  • Management of a dedicated project team of professionals with a mix of employed and contracted staff
Requirements
The ideal candidates should be:
  • highly experienced, with 15+ years in the business software applications industry, ideally including experience working overseas and/or with an international customer base
  • mature and confident
  • target driven and self motivated
  • highly customer focussed and proactive
  • strong and able communicators
  • able to work under pressure
  • experienced with working in complex customer organisations with multiple reporting lines
  • experienced dealing with large international vendors
  • willing to travel for extended periods of time (typically but not only to North Africa and the United Kingdom)
  • previously having worked in a similar post
  • ideally knowledgeable of the Oil & Gas industry
  • willing to learn
  • highly proficient in spoken and written English, and ideally with some Arabic knowledge also
  • able to provide references
