SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT & PROJECT MANAGER MALTA Working within Telecom subsidiary of the group, and reporting to the CTO, the Software Development and Product Manager is accountable for managing and coordinating resources and processes to efficiently deliver high quality software applications. The Software Development and Product Manager will be also responsible for defining and implementing the strategy for the product development team by driving initiatives, promoting innovation and maintaining motivation. Responsibilities: · Work together with the Product Owner to plan, execute and Project Manage software development projects; ensuring that teams have the appropriate product and technical specifications, direction, and resources to deliver the developed system effectively and efficiently · Establish realistic estimates for deliverables while ensuring that projects remain on target to meet agreed deadlines · Work closely with the Product Owner, Sales, Marketing and other departments to understand and assist in defining the system’s functional and non-functional requirements · Assist the Product Owner in defining the Product Vision · Accountable for the deployments of software upgrades, enhancements and fixes that are coordinated based on release schedules, as to ensure a continuous improvement on the current systems · Administer and control of the software development methodologies, practices and policies, adopted by the software development team as to meet the current and future application development needs of the organization · Evolve the existing software system applications and architecture in various development areas as needed · Management of the designated Software Development team. This includes but is not limited to assist developers in resolving technical issues as well as deal with any human resources issues that may arise · Software Development Team performance management · Guide, coach, motivate, and lead team members to their optimum performance levels and career development Requirements: · Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field · Minimum of five (5) years of management/leadership experience in a software development and/or other technology related organizations · Must have at least 7 years experience working through the design, development, release cycle, and delivering software products. · A record of successful delivery of software applications as an individual, project/team leader and/or development manager · Strong understanding of the software development life cycle · Strong leadership and project management skills · Strong time management, and problem solving skills · Experience and knowledge of various programming languages such as Java (J2SE, PHP, C/C++) will be considered as an asset · Relevant experience with web-services, SOA, etc will be considered as an asset · Understanding of relational databases and good knowledge of SQL · Knowledge of the Linux operating system and systems administration will be considered as an asset. · Willingness to dive into software environments and technical issues · Problem solving skills · Experience with Scrum methodology and Agile practices will be considered as an asset. · High command of verbal and written English. · Documentation experience (UML).
