SYSTEM ENGINEER  
MALTA
 
Working within the Telecom, a subsidiary of the Group, and reporting to the Systems Operations Manager, the main purpose of this job would be systems and applications operations. This includes setting up and maintenance of systems applications, assisting in the deployments, installation, configuration and testing of such system applications. Trouble-shooting, resource optimization of production systems, and issue resolution would be also part of the role’s duties.  
 
Role Profile & Responsibilities:
 
  • Installation and administration of systems applications
  • Servers Operating Systems’ administration (Linux) including installation, configuration and updates
  • Maintenance of System Applications (in-house developed and/or of-the-shelf)
  • Deployment and technical acceptance testing of Systems Applications (in-house developed and/or of-the-shelf)
  • My-SQL / DB Administration (including cluster solutions)
  • Database optimization and query (SQL) tuning.
  • Scripting knowledge and experience will be considered to be an asset.
  • Development knowledge and experience (PHP, Java) will be considered as an asset
  • SS7 and telecommunications knowledge will be considered as an asset.
 
Education & Experience:
 
  • Degrees in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or equivalent
  • Certification in Cisco, Juniper would be considered as an asset
  • Several years of experience (5) in System, Database and Network Administration
