User Experience & GUI Designer

As part of the company’s user experience team, you will work closely with the product engineering groups to design and build the presentation layer of a next generation software product. In this role you must critically evaluate the usability of the company products and propose visual designs, technically detailed interaction flows and prototypes that are creative, stylish and user-friendly.
 
As part of a highly talented UX team, you are required to:

  • Empathize with our end-users and identify user experience issues as well as ways that can make our products visually appealing and easy to use.
  • Liaise with the usability analyst and translate user feedback and usability test-results into elegant and user friendly software designs that are responsive and usable on both desktop and mobile devices.
  • Possess the ability to explain the rationale behind proposed designs and ensure these have a user-centric focus.
  • Actively contribute in front-end development of proposed designs using HTML, CSS, Jscript and other web technologies.
  • Keep your UX skill-set sharp and in-tune with current software design trends and HCI best practices
  • Be a team player committed towards continuous improvement, innovative GUI design and positive user experience.
 
To succeed in this role, you must possess:
 
  • A deep understanding of HCI and UX principles as well as passion for innovative GUI/UX design
  • Ability to translate complex concepts and ideas into user friendly and eye catching designs
  • Ability to contribute hands-on in front-end development using HTML, CSS, and other web technologies
  • Practical problem-solving skills with the ability to empathize with users’ needs
  • Exemplary software design skills and an eye for detail
  • Expertise in the use of prototyping and wire-framing tools for the creation of interactive mock-ups
  • Solid technical (ICT) background
  • Team player attitude and exemplary communication skills
 
Previous work experience in a similar post and/or formal training in HCI/GUI design will be considered an asset.
